Colombo, Sri Lanka, will host the Super Four stage of the 2023 Asia Cup following a two-day break due to the absence of any planned games on September 7 and September 8. At the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore on Wednesday, Pakistan defeated Bangladesh by seven wickets in the opening game of the Asia Cup 2023 Super 4 stage. The Super Four stage will resume on September 9 with Bangladesh vs. Sri Lanka at R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo, following a two-day pause (September 7 and 8).
The Asia Cup’s Super 4 stages will follow the original schedule, with all of the games taking place in Colombo. Concerns over the matches taking place in Colombo, which has been experiencing a lot of rain, have existed ever before India’s Group B match against Pakistan was cancelled last Saturday in Pallekele. The Pakistan Cricket Board agreed to the Sri Lanka Cricket’s suggestion to move the event to Hambantota. However, because India has continued to express reluctance to travel to Hambantota, the last match of the Super 4 stage and the other five matches will take place in Colombo as scheduled. On Sunday, September 10, the Super Four match between India and Pakistan will take place at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo, Sri Lanka. India scored 266 in 48.5 overs in the first matchup between the two sides in this Asia Cup, however, the game was called after just one innings. In a recent development, the Asian Cricket Council has added a reserve day for the highly anticipated match between India and Pakistan on Sunday.
