Ranji Trophy

Since 1934, the Ranji Trophy has served as India’s top domestic cricket competition. Originally known as the Cricket Championship of India, Ranjitsinhji, the first cricketer from India to play internationally, was honoured with a tournament name change. Round-robin play is followed by knockout rounds in the competition. The plate league and the elite league are the two categories that the 38 teams who are taking part in the Ranji Trophy cricket tournament are split into. Every season ends with promotions and relegations. With a total of 41 championships, Bombay is the most successful Ranji trophy team, while Saurashtra is the current champion.

Duleep Trophy

The Duleep Trophy’s inaugural competition was staged in 1961 and was named in honour of the legendary cricketer Duleepsinhji. The East Zone, West Zone, South Zone, North Zone, and Central Zone were created by the BCCI to make the first-class competition more competitive. In the beginning, the format was knockouts, but after the 1993–1994 season, it changed to a league structure. Today, just three teams—India Red, India Blue, and India Green—play in the event, which is no longer zone-based. The winner of the Duleep Trophy right now is India Red.

Irani Cup

As part of the Ranji Trophy’s Silver Jubilee celebration, the Irani Cup was launched in the 1959–60 season. This specific trophy is a single first-class match between the Rest of India and the incumbent Ranji Trophy champion. Z.R. Irani was a legendary figure in Indian cricket history and an essential member of the BCCI from the organization’s establishment. Therefore, the board honoured the late great by giving the cup his name.

Deodhar Trophy

The Deodhar Trophy is named for D.B. Deodhar, the Grand Old Man of Indian Cricket. India A, B, and C compete in a round-robin knockout format in the competition. The teams were once separated into these three groups, much like in the Duleep Trophy, until being modified to this format starting with the 2018–19 season. The North Zone has won the most Deodhar Trophy championships of any team in history.

Vijay Hazare Trophy

The Vijay Hazare Trophy is the largest domestic 50-over competition in India and features all 38 Ranji Trophy teams. The BCCI honoured one of India’s greatest cricketers, Vijay Hazare, by renaming the trophy in his honour for the 2002–03 season. Playoffs will determine the champion following the round-robin group stages. Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy

The Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy began shortly after the inaugural IPL season and immediately attracted the attention of the Indian public, which was just entering the T20 era. The Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy is India’s largest domestic T20 event in terms of the number of participating teams. under the 13 seasons to date, no team has won the championship more than twice under Syed Mushtaq Ali.
